Susan Milford

Until 2013, Susan was based in the UK, working in a consulting environment with clients from diverse sectors, with a strong focus on financial and professional services. Her clients were primarily headquartered in the UK, Europe, the US, and earlier in her career, Japan and South Korea.

Susan supported clients in identifying people-related needs and served as a trusted, impartial advisor to senior executives. She guided them through complex business challenges, including restructuring, cultural transformation, and navigating difficult business conditions.

Over her career, Susan has worked independently and held various management roles, including serving on an SME board, where she gained valuable and occasionally challenging insights. Her last corporate role was with Ernst & Young (London), where she led the Executive Resourcing & Assessment business.

Since then, Susan has operated as a consultant and coach under her own banner, delivering high-quality coaching support to leaders. As an Individual and Team Coach, she helps clients enhance leadership capabilities and build value-creating teams across Finance, Bio-Tech, Chemical, Telecoms, and Hospitality sectors throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Susan takes a systemic approach to her coaching practice, focusing on the whole person and their aspirations within the various systems they navigate. Her method emphasizes aligning personal growth with broader professional and organizational contexts.

She employs a challenge/rapport model, recognizing that all successful coaching relationships are co-created. Establishing rapport and trust is fundamental to creating a space where open, unreserved dialogue can flourish.

With a strong foundation of trust, Susan takes calculated risks to serve her clients’ agendas, offering thoughtful challenges and invitations to explore new perspectives and thinking when appropriate.

Susan is an active member of the Singapore Cricket Club, which she thoroughly enjoys—not only for the chance to participate in cricket events with reciprocal clubs but also for the opportunity to develop skills across a variety of activities.

She is a middling bridge player with aspirations to improve, a social mahjong enthusiast, and an occasional participant in lawn bowls and pickleball.

Currently, Susan serves on the advisory board of an early-stage start-up in Singapore.

Despite being hopeless at karaoke, she is a surprisingly reliable soprano in a local choir founded in the same year as Singapore’s establishment.
