Murray Priestman is a leadership coach to CEOs and C-suite leaders. Formerly Global Head of Talent at Macquarie and Head of Organisational Strategy (ANZ) at Korn Ferry, he advises on leadership transitions, talent strategy, and executive team effectiveness.

Murray Priestman is an experienced leadership coach and leadership advisor who works with CEOs, senior executives, and C-suite teams across Australia, Asia, and Europe. He is known for helping leaders navigate complex transitions, strengthen executive team performance, and align talent strategy with organisational goals.
Murray brings over 25 years of experience in senior in-house and consulting roles. He was the Global Head of Talent at Macquarie Group and led Korn Ferry’s Organisational Strategy practice across Australia and New Zealand. His coaching is informed by deep expertise in executive performance, organisational design, and strategic workforce transformation.
Murray partners with leaders during moments of change, including CEO appointments, leadership succession, M&A integration, and cultural transformation. His style combines commercial insight with behavioural science, enabling leaders to perform under pressure and lead with clarity and cohesion.
His clients include ASX-listed organisations, multinationals, government bodies, and professional services firms. At SMG, he also contributes to thought leadership and the ongoing development of SMG’s coaching methodology and coach community.
Murray brings a calm and engaging coaching style that belies his comfort asking challenging questions, and draws on his experience gained in roles as diverse as management consulting, train driving, and time spent working in a comedy club.
Murray spends his free time watching various family members play sport and cycling round Sydney. He is currently finishing his first book, The Science of Success, which looks at unusual ways to improve performance at work.
