Lauren Houghton

Lauren is an accomplished leadership strategist, executive coach and skilled facilitator to CEO, C Suite executives, managers, and their teams. With 25+ year’s expertise in driving Organisational Effectiveness, enhancing Talent Management, and building Leadership Capability. Lauren has solid commercial experience, executive leadership and corporate governance exposure combined with her cross-cultural boundaries’ expertise, after 15 years of living and working in Singapore.

She has held senior leadership positions, with Microsoft, as APAC Director, People and Organisational Development, Credit Suisse, Regional Head of the IT Institute Asia Pacific, and Global Programme Leader, BHP Billiton and Project Change and Communications Lead for Rio Tinto. She is founding Director, of Breakthru Leadership Pte Ltd, operating across Asia Pacific and Co-Founder of two start-up companies in Singapore as well. Her clients are typically Managing Directors, Chief Functional Leaders, (CIO, CTO, CMO, CPO, CFO), SVP/VP’s, Directors, and Manager and their teams from Telecommunications, Financial Services, ICT, Professional Services, Health Care, Investing and Insurance, Retail, Global Resources, Manufacturing, FMCG sectors. Lauren holds a master’s degree in Education (psychology) University of the Witwatersrand, Bachelor of Education Honours in Psychology, and Bachelor of Physical Education (Sport Science). Personal Insights

Lauren gained experience as small business entrepreneur (South Africa), and University Lecturer and researcher for the Education Policy Unit. She is a also a board member for the Society of Organisational Learning, Singapore. Preceding her corporate life, she enjoyed a welcome sojourn as a Professional Squash player and long-distance runner. She co-manages a small farm in the rural countryside of New South Wales, Australia partner and soul mate. When not in Singapore, she enjoys the company and temperaments of a small herd of Alpacas – who always provide a welcome challenge, balance, and provocation to her corporate life perspective society.
