Craig Marcombe

Craig offers a wealth of experience over four decades across of wide range of industries in Australia, UK, South Pacific and Asia, including Defence, hospitality, marine, overseas aid and consulting. His early experience included leading small military teams in a range of operational roles as a helicopter pilot.  More recently he led a team of facilitators who were responsible for the development and delivery of 90% of the Royal Australian Navy’s leadership programs.

He has been employed by numerous organisations to facilitate workshops across almost 30 years, including the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Aid, the Asian Development Bank, The University of the South Pacific, Alchemy and Maura Fay Learning. His facilitation experience includes the disciplines of leadership development, team building, personal development, culture, presentation skills, facilitation skills and coaching skills.

Craig also has extensive executive coaching experience, primarily in the Defence sector, but including the finance and retail industries.

Approach

Craig’s approach can best be summed up by his personal “why”, which is “To inspire others to be the best version of themselves so that the world can be a more positive place for us all (because life is too short to do anything else!)”. He is passionate about using this philosophy in all his endeavours. His approach to coaching is also strongly informed by the emphasis he places on building a close rapport as the critical first step in any engagement.

Qualifications

Craig has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Management Economics from UNSW. He is a level three certified coach and team coach with the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership. He is accredited in the use of Life Style Inventory, Group Style Inventory, Organisational Culture Instrument and DISC.

Personal Insights

Craig has a son and a daughter, both of whom live in the USA. He loves to stay active through a combination of squash, kayaking and bushwalking. When he puts his feet up, he enjoys the challenge of a cryptic crossword. He is also an active member of the NSW SES.
