Emma Stein
In addition to being a coach, Emma Stein is an experienced non-executive director working on a range of company boards spanning oil and gas, traditional energy and infrastructure, renewables, new energy and the circular economy, industrial sectors, and water supply and water infrastructure delivery and management. Her 18-year career as a non-executive director and board committee chair (across People and Culture, Audit and Risk, & HSE) followed her move from the UK to Australia in 2003. She has governed in the listed and unlisted markets, government, family-owned and private equity, for companies in the ASX100 to ASX300.
Approach
Emma’s executive career was in the UK and Europe. From work as a business analyst after leaving business school, she developed her line management experience in the building materials, fuel distribution, and energy retailing sectors. As a Managing Director, she has had particular experience of leading businesses from market entry strategy, to startup to mature organizations. So she understands pace particularly well and its place in competitiveness. Her last executive role was as UK Managing Director for French utility Gaz de France.
Qualifications
Emma has furthered her own qualifications since moving to Australia and is an Honorary Fellow of Western Sydney University, has supported her coaching work using ontological training, and since becoming an empty nester, is finding time to experiment studying more broadly and develop her own thinking about living life in her 60’s and beyond.
Personal Insights
She lives in a country setting, near Camden in NSW enjoyed too by resident horses and pets.
