So, what have we learnt from leadership this year?
We all need to be adapting to the opportunities that exist through innovation – exploring new ideas and new ways of doing things using technology and activity based working to help us become more efficient, balanced and successful.
It’s all about outputs, customer service and developing and retaining great employees.
Knowing oneself is at the core of leadership i.e. knowing one’s strengths and weaknesses enables us to learn, to be self-aware and adjust our behaviours to different contexts. I like to call it personal innovation!
The best time to re-connect with yourself and others is over the holidays
“The wise use of leisure…is a product of civilisation and education. A man who has worked long hours all his life will become bored if he becomes suddenly idle. But without a considerable amount of leisure a man is cut off from many of the best things.”
-Bertrand Russell, In Praise of Idleness, 1932
Here are my 4 Tips to Refuel for 2016:linked
Recharge: Relax and sleep for clear and creative thinking, strong relationships and good health.
Reflect: Note 5 things that work well each day. Reflection makes us more self-aware and grateful.
Re-energise: Exercise regularly to create more energy to manage work and life challenges.
Recruit: Create your personal Board of Directors/Executive Team to work with you to understand your goals for greater work life balance and success to help you stay on track in 2016.
Spending quality time with your loved ones is the essence of life which in turn leads to contentment and a sense of purpose.
Make sure you take time to connect with those closest to you over the holidays.
